# Automatically mount external drive in linux

`sudo blkid`

copy the UUID of the desired drive

`sudo vim /etc/fstab`

Add following line with the correct UUID and format to the bottom of the file:

```
UUID=XXXX-XXXX /media/external exfat defaults 0 0
```

Automatically mount with:

`sudo mount -a`
